I. Overview

In the AC input distribution and DC output distribution systems of base stations, a large number of miniature circuit breakers such as air switches and fuses are used to supply and distribute power to switching power supplies, air conditioners, lighting, communication equipment, etc. Generally speaking, these distribution devices not only fulfill the functions of making and breaking circuits but also provide protection against faults such as short circuits, severe overloads, and undervoltages in the circuits or load devices. They are typical “dumb resources” that are difficult to directly achieve remote monitoring and precise management functions.

In the process of 5G construction, in order to maximize the sharing of network infrastructure, save investment, and achieve standardized, intelligent, differentiated, and quantifiable precise power supply and backup management requirements under various scenarios such as multiple operators, multiple network elements, and multiple power supply systems for base stations, the integration of functions such as reliable AC diesel engine power generation for base stations, remote meter reading (electricity fee verification), peak shaving and valley filling of electricity fees, 5G scheduled power-on/off for energy saving, and monitoring of electrical safety hazards in the external power grid is realized.

II. Scope of Application

The technical requirements for AC intelligent switches outlined in this specification are applicable to various scenarios within the scope of energy management for macro base stations, micro base stations, indoor distribution systems, and iron tower energy, including the procurement, use, and maintenance of AC intelligent switches.
